Cotton Candy Clouds

I love this painting. Its the first in my new series, "Feeling Blue". The clouds were this gorgeous shade of pink for about 10 minutes, before the sun went down and they changed to a slate grey. They remind me a bit of those psychedelic elephants from Dumbo, swirling and constantly changing. I just sold this painting to a friend I recently reconnected with. Glad to see it went to a good home ;)

"Seeing Red"

Culminated from my recent experience in Switzerland/Germany 2012, I had my first solo art show in September titled "Seeing Red" :) I made 5 new pieces, and showed 2 others from my last semester of college that I felt went nicely with the theme. The show was a great success for me because it allowed me to view my work together and, due to the large space, from a distance allowing me to process my work differently than I was able in my small studio. Looking forward to new work!! This cold, Berlin weather is quite inspiring!!

Whiskey Cove

My last two days off were spent wakeboarding, drinking, eating, flirting, laughing, sun-tanning, crawdad fishing and getting into other general summertime tomfoolery with some of the best friends a girl could ask for. On the second day we anchored up in Whiskey Cove, an otherworldly lil bay reminiscent of the Caribbean.

Goodbye Tahoe summer. Until next year...

Golden Afternoon

A friend of mine has the good fortune of being a sailor on the Woodwind II, a catamaran that sails out of Zephyr Cove, Nevada. I have the good fortune of being invited for a sunset cruise on a lovely Thursday afternoon.

The man with the plan.

I loved feeling the wind in my hair and the waves underfoot. Truly an inspiring and rejuvenating experience.

Parasaaaaaail

I love when out-of-town friends come to visit so I can play tourist and indulge in activities I haven't done before. Parasailing is one of those silly activities and after I found out I had a hook up (thanks, marina boys ;) I promptly booked a 10 am cruise at 1,200 ft.

Our Korbel chute was perfect. Mimosas for lunch!

A beautiful view of Edgewood golf course.

Everything was so clear and peaceful at the top, I wish we could have gone higher. Ill have to try paragliding next...

:) Back on the boat after the boys dunked our feet. Time for beach and mimosas!

Wet, Hot, American Summer

God, I love Tahoe.

And cute boys.

And good friends.

And Tecate.

And long, hot days on a deep, cool, blue lake.
